Lime is often used to increase the pH of Asidic soil (the lower the pH the more acidic the soil). It provides a source of calcium and magnesium for plants and allows for water penetration of acidic soils.
Aglime, which is high in calcium, can also be beneficial to soils where the land is used for breeding and raising foraging animals. Bone growth is key to a young animal's development and bones are composed primarily of calcium and phosphorus.
Heartland's washed concrete sand is an aggregate size that has been crushed, washed and screened through a slotted screen. Most concrete sand is used in concrete or hot mix asphalt. We deliver concrete sand for large construction projects as well as for a homeowner needing as little as a bobtail truck load.
Decomposed granite is used for walkways, trails, bike paths and driveways. Decomposed granite is regularly used as base material for stone or paver walkway and patio construction. Our granite is sourced locally near Marble Falls. This allows home and property owners to create an authentic, natural look of project they are building. It is a cost-effective solution for many different types of landscaping and home projects. Decomposed granite is strong and can withstand the pressure of a vehicle parked on it. The pieces of rock allow water to filter through so that no puddles or mud is formed, The stone can be used with or without binding materials. Concrete, asphalt and tar all work well with decomposed granite.
